Day 2- 2010 National Competition
Day 2 has been a very full day, with competition in full swing. It's been a great atmosphere in all halls.
At 11am this morning the IT Software Applications Category had a speed test which certainly attracted crowds as it was not only a speed test. A handful of Skillaroos dressed as surf lifesavers with an inflatable shark ran down the main strip of the competition, blowing whistles and making heads turn by ending the run at the IT Software Applications category. The surf theme reflected the Speed Test Project, which involved competitors making and ordering certain applications.
Participating in a different competition, Australia's Best Joiners competed at the Irwin Tools Ultimate Tradesman Challenge this afternoon. Visitors to the competition gathered around to wacth the action. Stay tuned for results on the Irwin Tools Ultimate Tradesman challenge.
Walking around the site is such a visual spectacular. The bricklayers projects are coming together, the Landscape Construction section is taking shapes with impressive projects on display. Hair was getting waxed and plucked at Beauty Care and the Bread coming out of the ovens at Retail Baking- Bread bombarded the senses.
All in all it has been a good day, competitors are working extremely hard to achieve a great result, with Monday night's Presentation Ceremony only around the corner I'm sure many competitors are dreaming of standing on the podium Monday night.
Stay tuned.
