10 Days to Go!

With the 2010 WorldSkills Australia National Competition only 10 days away, the WorldSkills Australia Head Office is in full gear and preparing to relocate to sunny Brisbane.

The competition is shaping up to be a fantastic demonstration of Australia’s finest trades and skillspeople and is estimated to draw crowds of up to 70,000 from the 7-9 May from 9.00am-4.00pm.

Come be part of the action and have a go yourself at WorldSkills Australia Try’aTrade- the interactive program that lets you get a taste of various trades and skills. There are 30 trades you can get your hands on- from hairdressing, retail baking, jewellery, IT software, cookery and loads more.

Following three intense days of competition, the Presentation Ceremony at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday 10 May  will acknowledge Australia’s finest young skillspeople- the best in Australia! MC for the ceremony is Adam Spencer, a talent of radio (former Triple J Presenter), television, comedy and science.

The Presentation Ceremony has been coordinated by students studying a Diploma of Events Management at Southbank Institute of Technology. The students have worked tirelessly to be involved in all aspects of the ceremony, including sourcing entertainment, contractors, logistics, volunteers and presentations.

We invite you to come and check out the WorldSkills Australia booth located in Hall 1. Come pick up information on WSA, Try'a Trade and loads more!.See you in Brisbane!
